Family grrrr!

I was just in NJ two weeks ago for court and to visit my kids. I specificially set a whole day aside to spend with my Dad and Grandmother. I ended up spending that day sitting on my Grandmom's pool deck enjoying her conversation. My father who knew 3 weeks before that I was comming came and went out of the house 4 different times while I was there and made no effort to spend anytime with me. Now, I'm 2 weeks away from moving from Florida to Nevada, I've got a lot of work to do getting the house packed up and selling everything we own. My husbands brother is getting married on the 9th and he's the best man. So NOW, when I'm busier than I could possibly be my mother and sister decide that my father absolutley must visit us here in FL before I move. Like I have time to entertain! They want to spend a day at Disney and go out to an expensive dinner in Orlando. Like I have the extra money for this! I'm selling everything I own, not because I want to, but because I need the money for the move! My mom wants us to spend time together as a "family" well maybe she shouldn't have divorced him and broke up the "family" 20 years ago! I can't wait to get the he** off the East coast and away from them. Do you think they will ever figure out that they are the reason I'm moving so far away?

OMG....You sound just like me. We are moving to Vegas to get away from family that is like that also. We havent told tham yet but its coming . Personal I dont think my family has a clue about why we dont want to live near them. My parents think that the across the street neighbor is her daughter. But thats ok I'll have the last laugh. I live 2 miles from my parents & I might see them once every 2 to 3 months, because when I make plans to go see them they are having dinner with the neighbors convienant huh?Posted 11-09-2008 at 07:26 AM by 1wildatv
