Birthday Blues

I hate birthdays! Mine at least. I especially hate this birthday! I'm far away from home, I miss my mama, my brothers, my pets. I want to be with people who care about me and who show it. No, I dont want to be pampered, I just want someone to get me a cake at least!
Hopefully I'll be going to visit 2 of my closest friends and I'll celebrate my birthday then!!
This may sound extremely nerdy but I took an exam yesterday that I had been preparing for for months. Now I feel like I've lost something. Doesn't that sound weird?

Happy (belated) Birthday!
I think I've had about 20-25 birthdays where I was away from family and what few casual friends I have had. There were 2 or 3 times when I lost track of the days and realized it was my birthday all day or the day before!
College dorms become like ghost-towns during the Summer, when my birthday occurs, and I stayed for the sake of my p/t job...which would be f/t during breaks.
Then, after college, there'd be job related moves to distant cities ...and I'm pitifully slow to make new friends.
Such situations make the good birthdays, with family and friends, so much nicer...and more humble on my part. I don't care to recieve gifts...just being with people, when I am, matters so much more.
Exam - no, it doesn't sound weird. Next time, right before you take the exam, plan on having something take its place...preferrably something you'd enjoy but don't normally have time for.Posted 08-19-2011 at 10:16 AM by James1202

Thanks for making me feel like im not alone!!! and you're right, i dont care about presents just as long as i have people who care around. thats so much more important than ANY present ever!
After my next exam il make sure i follow your advice. I WILL do something fun. that way i wont dwell on losing something. I got the result of one of my exams, I passed that Thank God
