Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Shaking Up The Channels At SiriusXM
Posted 11-02-2021 at 06:35 PM by case44
Fasten your seat belts, sports fans..........and music lovers. Get ready for 60s Gold.
It happens tomorrow morning. 60s on 6 is seeing the end of a long era, as the channel will move up the dial from Channel 6 to Channel 73. I guess SiriusXM honchos had decided that CoffeeHouse's channel would fit better on 6 than its soon-to-be predecessor. Some other channels will scoot over a bit, and more will be tossed hither and thether. Also among the movers will be 50s on 5, shifting over to 72 to become 50s Gold. A new era certainly is dawning.
Hype aside, other than changes of home, nothing else really will change. 60s Gold will still have Phlash Phelps, Pat St John, Dave Hoeffel, Shotgun Tom Kelly, Peter Noone, Tommy James, Natalie Noone, and Mike Kelly. The 50s will still have Cool Bobby B with his Doo-Wop Stop. While many listeners online have expressed disgust with the process, this listener is just having to make adjustments. As long as I'm still getting the programming, then I'm okay with it. The remaining "Decade" channels, in case you wonder, are staying right where they're at. Guess they seem to be more "hip" with the new neighbors down the dial.
We oldsters (uh, as it were ) appreciate good music where we can readily get it. And my radio buddies will continue to do what they do best, and that's please the listening ear.

Sad, they keep making it worse and worse.......
When XM was separate from Sirius, XM was much better.... That guy MEL came in and ruined them both..... Then he left :(
I used to love THE SYSTEM on XM and "Industrial Metal" on XM .. Both ended with the merge......Posted 11-02-2021 at 06:57 PM by dseafg
