Moving to San Diego-house and job hunting

Problem is your goals are mutually exclusive. It would help if you prioritized them, put in a budget range, and then identified what kind of housing, schools, and walkability you would be willing to settle for. Unless you have millions, you are going to be making compromises. We need to understand which compromises you're most willing to make.
Thank you for the suggestions and insight. Without a job in hand, I’m looking for a short term or month to month lease, max $3K/month. First priority in location is safety, then high school rating no less than 7, then walk ability-with high school in walking distance if possible.
