No news is good news

Yesterday my spouse and I had a conversation on the way to the store. He got a message on his phone and I said “Ok, give me the bad news.”
“Why must news always be bad?” he asked. Why, because there is no such thing as “good news” to me.
I hate news and I hate surprises. When I was young I thought differently, but now any news I consider as a threat to my wellbeing.
Really, what good news can there be for me?
“You have won a million”. If I get a message like this, it will 100% turn out to be a scam.
“We are having a guest for a while”. I mean, what? A GUEST??? Most likely it’s gonna be someone I wouldn’t like to welcome in my house.
“Congratulations, you are pregnant.” No comments.
“Hello, how are you?” (from a person I haven’t heard from in ages) Haha. Be ready for them to ask you for money this very moment.
“I’ve got a brilliant job offer” - oh yes, it’s a brilliant perspective for me to stop seeing my husband at home. Nobody knows what may be behind that “brilliant job offer”. Thanks, but no, I’m not ready to pay such a high price for it.
You know what? Go to hell with all your news, surprises and suggestions to leave my comfort zone. I want no more surprises. Because I’ve had enough.
