Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

My Co-Worker Had A Nice Experience With The New I-35

Central Texas travel is in the process of getting better, mile by mile. It's not done yet, but it's getting there. If you've been on Interstate 35 between the outskirts of Dallas and the outskirts of Austin, no doubt you've seen vast improvement and a better driving experience.
Temple is not far from finished, but some lanes will eventually need to be added in Waco in the not-too-distant future. One of my co-workers visits Austin frequently. He's just been down there to visit a few family members and he'd just been on I-35. He gave two thumbs up.
Really, I would, too, after you've seen the results of the new road. My stars, when he explained it to me the other day, he couldn't wipe the smile from his face. 
Now, you'd have to get used to a number of the new entrance/exit ramp placements, as many have been reconfigured. There are some new signs. The mileage indicators, despite great intentions, are, unfortunately, not very well-done and are out of state compliance (as are the indicators on other Texas interstates, but that's another post). In any event, he loves the new road. I love the new road. Lots of people in this state will fall in love with I-35 all over again.

It's certainly much better and a smoother ride than ever. I actually got from Dallas to Waco much quicker on a recent trip. Granted, Waxahachie's still being worked on, but when that's done, we shouldn't even have to slow down.Posted 07-08-2019 at 01:42 PM by malfunction
