hunterseat df: Hunter Seat Equitation is a division that is judged on the ability and the style of the rider. The riders can be judged both over fences and on the flat.

Although true, hunters DO eat, at least the skilled ones do, my name derives from the world of horses.

And because the word hunter is in my name, people automatically think I'm a guy. Not even close.

Whenever I meet someone named Hunter I have to bite my tongue to keep from saying "That's my name, too!"

Never Underestimate the Power of Donuts

Posted 03-04-2016 at 02:09 PM by hunterseat

I consider donuts to be ambassadors of sorts. Just the word attracts attention in a positive light. Put that word on a sign over a storefront and it attracts more than attention! It attracts my car...right into the parking lot!

When I was expecting my first child I made it a habit to never drive past a doughnut shop. That is to say, I always stopped. And there were two on my way to work. I gained 60 pounds during that pregnancy. And enjoyed every creme-filled calorie.

I've spent decades working on and around military bases. Occasionally I bring my coworkers donuts. But my favorite thing to do is randomly drop off a dozen donuts at the front gate. WOW. Talk about joy! "Better than Prozac!" I like to say.

Once a young lady was moved to tears and asked with wide eyed wonder "Why do you have so many donuts?" I think I was like the Easter Bunny to her. (And I only had 2 dozen, one of which was in her hands, just adjacent to her service revolver.)

Recently a very cold gate guard mentioned something hot to drink and that gave me a great idea. I'll be picking up coffee with my next dozen to drop off at the gate.

Today was a snowy, frozen mess outside. I volunteered to help out at a horse and donkey rescue. I picked up a dozen donuts on the way. It was my first day. And there's nothing like donuts to break the ice!
