Tidbits of The Mexican Revolution

There are plenty that I have come across, here are a few that I thought were interesting.
Julio Cardenas (?-1916) He was Pancho Villa's second in command. He was one mean hombre, a man came up to him on a street and asked him what time it was and Cardenas shot him dead because he didn't feel like talking. If you ever saw the movie "Villa Rides " he was the character that Charles Bronson played, a real psychopath. Lt.George Patton was sent down to Mexico to look for Villa after New Mexico was attacked and he encountered Cardenas and two other men. A gunfight broke out and Cardenas and his two friends were killed. Patton got credit for shooting him and took his saddle and sword as souvenirs.
Ambrose Bierce (1842-1914?) He was an American writer known for many stories including " An occurrence at Owlcreek Bridge " which was made into a Twilight Zone episode. He went down to Mexico to write about Pancho Villa and the Revolution and was never seen again.

Actor Anthony Quinn's father
Francisco Quinn was born in Mexico to an Irish immigrant father and a mother of Aztec ancestry. He rode with Pancho Villa and then moved to East Los Angeles where he became a cameraman for a movie studio.
