What do the Numbers Mean to You?

Posted 08-05-2014 at 02:56 PM by Fortoggie

Have you visited the world population clock lately? What you see there may explain why war is going on in the middle east and why thousands of kids are coming across our borders. It will help explain why some people are getting extremely rich and why millions remain very poor. That one web site tells us why millions of cars are manufactured and sold everyday.
By studying world population we can see why there are parallel truths. That is; there are more people going to church now than at any time in history. At the same time there are more people unchurched than at any time in history. More people are living the good life than at any time in history and conversely more people are destitute than at time in history.
Around a 300,000 babies are born everyday [ world wide, with a net gain of about 200,000 ] and about the same number are ready for high school and/or college on any given day. With computerization and automation we see that more goods are made and sold with less labor, thus those at the helm of production have become rich beyond our ability to comprehend and those left out because machines are doing their work are caught on the short end of the stick.
I challenge you to take some time everyday to think about how the population explosion is effecting you. If you live in a remote place you might have to think harder but for most of us it is very evident. The roads are more crowded, there are waiting lines at restaurants and when the news shows, floods, fires and storms more people are impacted.
Population growth strongly impacts politics. Our state is the forth fastest growing in the nation with over 500 new people everyday, yet we have loud voices crying for smaller and cheaper government. The 2000 extra people to accommodate each week as government bodies must; are never factored into their thinking.
