6 GUNS; Why not SIX GUNS ?

Posted 05-31-2014 at 09:55 AM by Fortoggie

I'm really giving, Netflix a workout, last night it was a new kind of western called, 6 GUNS. There has always been a lot of shooting and killing in westerns but by comparison very sterile and clean, usually one bullet would do it and the victim would shed no blood. Now it's a different world. In the first five minutes of 6 Guns a family was destroyed. A gang of five broke into a home where a man, his wife and two small sons were having supper. They instantly started beating up on the man while others held the wife and the boys.
The man and the sons had to watch as the wife was laid over the table and raped by three of the men, then he watched them shoot his two sons and his wife had to watch when they shot the husband. How can you go uphill from here?
Am I being prudish when I ask; why in the name of heaven would people spend millions to make a movie like this? Who would allow their wife or daughter to play the female role? Why has the movie code become so relaxed that any kind of brutality can be shown? Little wonder the Muslims around the world see these films and conclude that we are the " GREAT SATAN " nation.
Then we might ask; why as a public do we tolerate and support this bestiality? I read that the average youth views 18,000 deaths on film by the time they have reached adulthood. While I am a peaceful man, I have to admit that I would take pleasure in taking a large stick and beating the living hell out of those who produced this film.
Okay I admit that maybe only one of a thousand watching this movie will act out the violence portrayed here but that adds up to a lot, plus it desensitizes our brains and our natural human spirit. When film makers appeal to our baser instincts and when we as a public tolerate it we are all in trouble. They were so careful in seeing that the town and the buildings were true to the period. The costumes and the saddles were accurate but why cast the humans involved as lower than any animal?
Do you have a realistic idea of how we the public can put a stop to this assault on our collective morals?
