What's It Worth?

Posted 05-01-2014 at 12:03 PM by Fortoggie

" People know the price of everything and the value of nothing." That's what my mother use to say and I thought of that the other day when the lady called to renew my subscription for the TNFP. Let me explain, she said we had to go up from $ 53 per quarter to $ 84; wow I said, that's a jump. Now with tax I am paying $ 1 per day for the newspaper. Then I got to thinking, people pay that for a cup of coffee, a candy bar or a bag of chips. Yet reporters work many hours, pressmen work through the night and the delivery man has it in my driveway by 5 a m. In the paper are coupons, information, entertainment, news and commentary that helps me understand the world. I am paying , $1 but it's true value is much greater.
