How Fast is Fast?

Posted 02-12-2014 at 06:06 PM by Fortoggie

Who knew? Samsung the giant electronics company employees 427,000 people. To put that in perspective, it is more than all the employed people in the Tennessee valley. This fast growth company along with several others running at the speed of light is quickly changing our world. Now Samsung and others are investing billions to develop quantum computers that even now can compute 3600 times faster than regular computers. How can we survive in that environment? Shouldn't parents be bringing this up around the kitchen table; at least giving our children a heads up on what's coming down the pike?
Young people I have talked to about this, say let her come the faster the better. I think they miss the point completely. They are thinking of all this new technology in a very personal way.
Think of the Hebrews leaving Egypt, there were old people, children and pregnant women and there was approximately six million animals involved in the march. If life was to have any meaning for them on the other side of the Red Sea then the fast movers would have to slow down and not only wait on the slow moving crowd but also devise ways to protect them.
Historically leaders have always had to wait on the slow masses. I have a book by Bill Gates, titled " Business at the Speed of Light", Google, Twitter and Samsung and several others are running so fast that they have out lapped us a dozen times already yet the people that I am around still think that they are in the race and have a chance to win.
