Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Say "Cheese" For The Traffic Light Camera

Interesting how people just have to get somewhere as we often get in a hurry. In some instances, folks tend to race a traffic signal because they don't want to get stuck at it for a few minutes when it goes from yellow to red, especially since they were just at other lights they got stuck at. I'm sure you've all been in that situation a time or two. I have.

No, this writer was not involved, but thank you. It so happens I was in Frisco, Texas the other night running a quick errand when I was stopped at an intersection that had a traffic light camera. Keep in mind that I just said "night". Just keep that in mind. At any rate, the flashes were triggered, and they startled me! Realizing that someone (or two drivers) across the way were racing to avoid a red light, they just had their license plates in a snapshot to be sent to them by mail. But back to the part about the flashes startling me. This was at night and at a busy Frisco intersection amidst all the restaurants and shops in the vicinity. Dadgum, they were bright!! You'd think that bombs were going off or something like that. Almost gave this writer a coronary.

Hey, just saying. I'm just rewriting my history book of life, and history is what's happened. Just saying.

People just get into too big a hurry that they have to race a light. I saw someone nearly get in an accident while trying to race a red light not long ago, only to veer away to a clear lane and avoid hitting the car in front of them who was stopping. It can be pretty scary out there.

Now, with the flashes at night, I would have loved to have seen your reaction to them the way you described. LOL

I flash the cameras back. They send me a pic of my farfegnugen blowing thru the light with my cheeks pressed against the windshield. They send it with a ticket that I don't intend to pay. They're going to have to come and get me....

You may have loved the reaction, but trust me, you won't want to have been with me in the car that night.

I love how everyone tries to defeat the red light camera system. I have been building and installing them for years. Every job I approach as a challenge. Every one using that spray.....guess what doesn't work on my installed systems. I travel through many states and my gorgeous wife accompanies me. No she doesn't have to work because you careless drivers continue to donate your hard earned money to us. Keep running them........when you see the flash.....I gotcha !!!!!!!
