Anybody know anything about Santa Barbara in particular? Type of people? Job market? I've already been doing some research on the cost of living. All I can say to that is yikes! But I don't care, I'm coming to California no matter what.
Santa Barbara is definitely part of Southern California, and not part of the Central Coast. THe rest of Santa Barbara County is also considered to be part of Southern California, but San Luis Obispo may be considered of part both, part of the Central Coast, and part of Southern California.

Santa Barbara is Southern California like the other poster said. I consider the central coast to be from Santa Maria to Santa Cruz.
