Curious puffs of snow set against
vivid dawn-lit emerald;
cottony, icy fluffs of silver white
purity and innocence.
Impossible beneath a waking September sky!
But closer look
and the deadly predator is revealed,
all centered in dew-laden strands
of prison and death.
As curiously beautiful now
as when it was impossibility,
and no less wondrous for all that.
