Chögyam Trungpa's "THE END OF AMBITION"

Posted 07-31-2012 at 08:49 AM by LookinForMayberry

Apparently from this email from Chögyam Trungpa's quotes (below), there's a reason why this year has been such a challenge for me (as I am trying to achieve spiritual salvation through my Mindfulness Practice). I'm just too danged ambitious.

(But I was raised that way! )

So, does this mean that all the homeless people out there that have grown to accept their state are spiritually awakened? Maybe only if they no longer struggle with the idea.

It's so hard to Wake Up in this lifetime, maybe in all of them....

Accept, Deb, accept....

THE END OF AMBITION
Salvation, if we can talk about it at all, is the end of ambition, which is when you become completely one with your experience. Knowledge becomes one with wisdom, which is called buddhahood or the awakened state of mind. You realize that you never needed to make the journey at all, because the journey and the goal are there already. It’s not so much that you are achieving liberation, but it is more that you realize that liberation is right there and that you needn’t have sought for it.
