Waiting is NOT to our Liking!

Bigun's laid out on his side on my workroom floor -- exasperated with me. After all, I didn't stay out in the back yard chucking the ball nearly long enough (never mind that forever would not be long enough). Is it his fault that I got bored waiting for him to bring back the ball, while he got caught up in some new smell that wasn't there before? Apparently. Probably I should've just stood there, admiring the new growth on the lilac bush, the fresh blossoms of bergenia coming up from their bed, the flowering quince. Instead, I let the throbbing in my temples drive me indoors. (Is it a cold? Allergies? Both? Whatever. It's miserable.)
So, there he lays waiting for Dad to finish getting his camper ready for the coming fishing excursion. Sigh. Wait -- was that him -- is he ready? No, just another trip back and forth.
I sympathize. I am no better at waiting. It's been one month and 41 job applications, and no calls. Funny, I never knew before how much my sense of self-worth is tied up in my work, or my ability to get work.
So, here we sit, or lay -- waiting, and waiting, and waiting.
(The least she could do is give me a chew.)
I wish these cold meds would work.
Still waiting....
