Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

And When The Going Gets Tough At Work......

Well, so much for starting the year off on a high note. Perhaps work in its very nature was just simply doing what it was supposed to do. I just had this feeling that the events that unfolded today would happen.

And what would anyone have expected on the first big business day after the holiday? That's right. All hell proceeded to break loose and all at the same time. It's the storm before the calm. If Baby New Year wanted his way, work would have just eased in instead of deluging everyone. And Baby New Year must need a new pacifier. Work was work, and that's simply wasn't just the tip of the iceberg. Wheels were flying off everywhere, volume was way up, and it was hard for everyone to keep up. No time for breaks or catching up on problems. This writer was getting carpal tunnel by just putting notes in seemingly every order he had today whether there was a problem with it or not. All in all, it's safe to say that we'rrrrrre baaaaaaa--aaaaack! Commerce keeps moving and never stops, so that's the nature of the beast. And tomorrow will bring forth a better day...................I hope!

Meanwhile, on this same day, I set aside some dates for a March vacation. They got approved by my sup today, and so the Casester will one day ride again. Guess it goes to show you that there are still things in life to really look forward to. Bad day today, good day tomorrow. I'll take the good day.

Superior post as usual, Case. We all have our bad days, and there are just a lot of things about coming back from the holidays that none of us will ever understand. Hope you had a better day today.
