It's L.O.T.R. time of the year!

Every year around the holidays I break out my 3 disc collection of Lord Of The Rings and pop it in the old DVD player. It's become tradition. I play it in the background over a period of 3-4 days usually while I'm doing other stuff. Since, if I miss a scene, it's no big deal since I've seen it all before and know how it all ends. I don't exactly know why, but the Lord Of The Rings movies give me a feeling of peace and calmness. A sense of good times.
Seeing Frodo and Bilbo Baggins and Samwise get up to all their hobbity adventures. And the Elf (Orlando Bloom's arguably best roll) showing off his bow and arrow skills, and the troll's funny antics, and Gandalf turning into the White Wizard and kicking ass all over Gondor. I love it! And if you've never seen Lord Of The Rings, man you are missing out! Probably the best thing about it is the story. J.R.R Tolkien did a fine job, and did you know he originally wrote The Hobbit for his children and never intended it to become published? The Hobbit left everyone wanting more, and viola, Lord Of The Rings was born.

Here are some interesting Large articles on Wikipedia about Lord Of the Rings and the author J.R.R. Tolkien himself. He lead of pretty active and interesting life.

In addition to being a kick ass movie, I'm sure my fondness of Lord Of The Rings around the holidays has something to do with this: Each of the three movies was released around Christmas time, and each movie was highly anticipated. So back in the early 2000's when it was Christmas, lots of people were talking about Lord Of The Rings.
I went to go see each of these movies at the theater, and I remember I could not wait for the next one in the series to come out so I could see it all through. Me and everyone else. I had even read The Hobbit and the trilogy when I was 19 so I knew how it all turned out. But the movies were so well done, how could you not want more?

Also, I went to see each movie with a different girl I was romantically involved with at the time. The first movie I saw with my girlfriend Joy, but about 9 months later we broke up. The 2nd was movie was with a girl I worked with, Jennifer. And the third movie was with a Lily...

So that my friends, is that! Anyway, enough for now.

Cheers and peace!

Shame they didnt bring The Hobbit out first... I know, it was written last, but, it was a good prelude to all the movies.

I sat through the First Movie... 3 hours, and I swore I would never do it again!! I dont care how wonderful a movie is, three hours is way too much, but then again, there was so much to the book, so I can see why they did it.

    Have a Great Day!

    I wish you well...
