Back to "Work"

Today was, like most people can understand, horrifically painful. I got to school at about 9am, and well, had 3 shots of espresso by 9:30 and by 10:00 wanted to put my head on the desk and sleep. Sadly, or not so, I did not sleep. I actually read a paper that prior to my leaving vacation, my adviser said "don't bother - it's too hard... well, uh... for anyone, it would be too hard." I don't know if he meant I was stupid, but I got through the important part of the paper today, so... a proverbial stick-out-the-tongue to him.
Although I did do it, albeit it was hard, by the end of it I figured out that it might be conceivable that the important part that my adviser was wanting me to find out is most likely in their previous paper. Well, at least tomorrow I have another project to do.
They always say (or at least I imagine that is what they say) that the first day back after vacation is the worst. So, an update: my mom is out of her second surgery where she got her elbow to flushed out... She seems to be doing okay, but I'm still worried about her. I'm still refreshed, despite the overwhelming tiredness that happened today. Things are still looking up, and I'm looking forward to moving ahead and pushing through - getting through to the end of this long, long road.

i'm guessing that your prof has seen too many people read and fail reading the paper. he probably didn't figure on you completing it.
