Could City Data have a 3-D Virtual World?

Posted 09-29-2008 at 06:22 AM by Summering

Last night I came in on a the tail end of a story on TV about some very futuristic sites. One being a 3-D Virtual World imagined ,and created, by its residents. Can you think of how this type of program would enhance and expand our City Data enjoyment? It is a combination of towns, events, news, community.......there are volunteers and other community leaders and this expands into all areas of life.
They have their own press room, event speakers, news areas. Almost, like we have here but.........in 3-D and as a "walking community". Your image becomes the character you wish. ( hummmm)
It is an expansion of the "only Club" I had joined as a friend to our little fellows....
Which was the Peng***Club. ( for surely I can't promote another site) That was as close as my mind would come to this more adults village. A more simple version for sure.
Can you imagine each of our states having their own building and news areas, a press room, event speaker.......clothing stores...arenas...announcements...festivals..
All growing and progressing before your eyes in 3-D......
I loved watching these 3-D people....
Could you picture us( CD people )out and about visitng all the states as an animated figure. Our states coming alive before our eyes. ( I wonder if it could be combined with other online up front and close up maping sites)
On this site businesses, schools, and organizations can join.
I am just saying this because I see that an expansion of City Data with this type of format would be such an asset.
The website improvements and undertaking would be a huge job.
But,the benefits would certainly be forthcoming in leaps and bounds.
The site also had a way of exchanging funds for clothing items, and the like. Some posters even made a living wage out of the sale of store items ( I came in on the end and didn't get to grasp this part)
Anyhow, I left the program with thoughts of how City Data could work in 3-D.
Its an exciting thought......so I'm passing it along to you. Something to think about
Sum
