Yellow Headed Amazon...had one named Lolita, she said about 200 words and could eat with a spoon...she was a hoot and very sweet...uncaged...walked everywhere she was too lazy to fly.

Do you mean:
1) Double Yellow Headed Amazon
2) Yellow Nape Amazon
3) Yellow Crowned Amazon (aka Single Yellow Headed Amazon)

LOL... I don't know why, but that really made me laugh! I just pictured an overweight bird with a spoon in her "hand," waddling around the house asking for food. Funny yet very odd visual.
I kept my African Grey's wings clipped, so she could glide but not actually FLY. Really had to keep a close eye on her (outside of the cage), though, since they're such heavy-bodied and clumsy birds... thus an attempted glide could easily become a serious fall. But like your bird, Maggie also preferred to walk everywhere! She mostly divided her time between sitting on top of her cage, or next to wherever I was sitting at the time - particularly the sofa or chair's arms, where she'd wait for me to share my food. Pasta was her favorite, btw.
lol coldjensens i LOVE toucans, worked with a pair at the zoo along with some turaco...there such characters, but lordy can the toucans and turaco projectile poop lol, almost as bad as a lori LOL!
the male of the toucan pair was a love, but the female was just plain mean...not in a nasty agressive kinda way but in a cold calculating laughs at peoples pain kind of way...shed find rocks and take them up to the upper branches and hoard them, then when you whent in the aviary to clean shed throw the rocks at your head and actually laugh!
I had every size bird, from Parakeets to Macaws. Right now, my favorite is my little Blue Pacific Parrotlet. He loves to sit on my shoulder under my hair. I just adore him!
I like all the birds. I have 2 Nanday's, a quaker, a green cheek, and a red lore amazon. They are all different and they are all wonderful birds. Each one of them have different personalities. The red lore is my husband's, the quaker is my youngest son's, and the green cheek is his fiance's. I have the nanday's. All of them talk to a certain degree. The lore's talking is getting better everyday, however she is about a year old now and she learns more every day.
