I have grown up in Southern California and lived here my whole life. I am transferring to LSU this summer. I am looking for a good, safe neighborhood for me and my boyfriend to buy a home. (He's form Louisiana but doesn't know the area well.) Nothing too big, maybe 3BD/2-3BA, this is just a starter home for us until I graduate. But I still want to feel safe when I am home alone, and be able to walk down the street by myself and not have to worry. I am not able to come out to look at homes until June. Please help make my search easier!

I'm looking for a condo or townhouse. I don't really want to have to deal with taking care of a yard or anything right now. And it doesn't have to be too fancy. We're not planning on staying there for more than 2-3 years.
