My family and I are relocating to Maryland for husband's new position in Annapolis Junction. Said husband wants to look at houses in Bel Air because you can get more house for your money - I think this is nutty because I imagine the commute will be awful for my husband. I am set on Catonsville, Ellicott City, maybe Severna Park.

Can anyone fill me in with the grisly details of driving from Bel Air to Annapolis Junction? Husband will need to be at work by 7:30am, will probably leave for the day around 5 or so. Thanks for any information!

grisly would be an accurate word but there are those that do it daily. The morning 7:30 would work out. The afternoon 5-ugh

Default Why not Linthicum

If you search for Linthicum, the arguments for that Anne Arundel County community near Annapolis Junction have been made repeatedly.

johnj - what timeframe could you guess for the commute? Barante - I'm not sure what you meant in your reply. Something to do with Anne Arundel county?

Please study the map to prevent avoidable mistakes in judgment about geography. Annapolis Junction is an old railroad junction in Anne Arundel County, far from Annapolis. Linthicum is a nice and affordable community near Annapolis Junction. It is near the airport but has less aircraft noise than Columbia. It also is on a light-rail line to the city and on MARC and Amtrak to Washington. There are other alternatives. Moving to Bel Air is nuts.

Thank you for the info, barante! I will look into Linthicum. I am very pleased that I can tell my husband that I'm right and he's wrong!
