But, the 41 is Gene Haas' car. Tony is not in the decision making on that car at all. That is Gene's sandbox to win a championship. That's all that car is on the track to do.. It's kinda a wreckers-or-checkers deal, on a season-long basis.

It's the only place he can land in Cup.

With all that is going on in the world right now, I have to say Kyle is still too toxic. This wasn't my opinion a few months ago, but recent events have changed my mind.

Now if NASCAR wants to repair its reputation among loyal fans after BubbaGate, then they could reinstate him. But I'm not holding my breath. Plus even Tony Stewart would have a tough time finding a sponsor for him (other than HAAS).

What about an Asian company as a sponsor? Come back in a Toyota truck?

Alex Bowman taking over the 48 next year! So now it will be interesting to see what Hendrick does with the 4th car, does it stay the 88 or does Kyle Larson get different number. Ally is staying with the 48, Axalta going all in on the Byron 24. Be interesting to see who Hendrick has lined up or sponser for the 4th car.

I think it's not any kind of stretch that Ally said no, which is why Bowman was moved.

The 5 car coming back.. I doubt very much Junior was consulted or asked anything about that. I think that's something Rick has wanted to do for quite some time. Honestly, the 5 and the 25 are really the "OG" numbers for Hendrick. The 24 and 48 came along later, and have had far more success. But, the 5 was his first car, and won a championship with Terry.. And the 25.. While Schrader won a couple of times in it.. That number, for me at least, will always be associated with Tim Richmond.

I suppose that Rick is going to sponsor the car himself if he's unable to land any outside sponsors. I honestly didn't think he'd commit to that. But, maybe, just maybe, he has a few lined up. Time shall tell.
