On the Speed telecast, Will Buxton asked Bernie Ecclestone about it and Bernie - clueless as ever - stated that it had all been blown out of proportion and that no one was really threatened and there were no guns involved.

I don't think Bernie is clueless. Of course he wants to downplay the incident. Who would want to go to a race if they have fears of being carjacked and robbed. He's just trying to protect the reputation of the city that holds one of his GP's.
