Was talking with a buddy of mine at work and he's a big UT fan. He says before each game he meditates before a shrine he's made in his living room to Vince Young. It's kind of silly and sad, but even I had to admit that I have sort of pre-game ritual I do before every Saints game. Must wear "Be a Saint" t-shirt and either hat or visor.

Anyone else have any crazy or funny superstitions for UT or your favorite sports team?

We do, in fact. We both wear burnt orange on game day, tie a UT bandanna around the dog's neck, and consume a shot of Hornitos anejo tequila after every Longhorns touchdown. We rotate game day between our house and our next-door neighbors/best friends' house and the tradition is the same at their place, too. We go to 1-2 home games a year and tailgate and drink our touchdown shots BEFORE the game (for good luck, of course).

That sounds borderline insane.. and yes, quite sad that he puts so much of his living into said individual. Hrmm, I guess Christians do the same thing hoping for the same 'outcome', so who am I to judge.

in rapid order:

I say "Hook Em" 3 times out loud
Down a shot of Tequila
Howl and the sky
Toke a bowl
then Fart

and I'm ready for the game.

Oh for peeps sake..why are there so many people who don't believe in a god or religion have to get online and pipe about how everyone is odd for believing what they believe? What a fad this is. Jeez, live and let others live. And stop with the "Christians are getting in everyone's face" as that's as stereotypical as saying all Atheists are mean, grumpy, etc. Most Christians I know don't even discuss their faith!

I'm really excited about the game tonight! Nothing like a huge championship football game on a cold and blustery night with cocktails, a nice brisket, a fire, and good friends.

Ummm! Brisket sounds good, especially on a night like tonight. But it's gonna be a gumbo night for me. Turkey and Andouille. Everyone enjoy the game! Here's a story about Longhorn fan superstition and in it is the pic of the Vince Young shrine I was talking about.
