Next on the list - find a doctor. No issues, but I need a general practitioner to connect with because I'm OLD and need to stay on top of things. Any recommendations for someone convenient to the Central area, female preferred? Thanks!

also - I have searched the forum and the recommendations I saw were for ob/gyns, pediatricians or in the suburbs, so thanks for any others!

Default The Best Doctor In Austin

Is Michele Markley with Austin Regional Clinic. They're number is (512) 452-2244. The last time I checked she was still taking new patients. She's been my doc for years and she's AWESOME!!

She really gets down to business, she's a great diagnostician and she has a wonderful bedside manner (she hugs me everytime I see her).

My Ob/Gyn (which I chose specifically because they are based out of a facility 100% devoted to women's health issues) is the Renaissance Women's Group: www.rwgdocs.com and I see Laura Merritt: (512) 425-3855. Word of caution about Ren. Wom. Group: they have some sketchy dealings with insurance companies and recently tried to drop all of their Blue Cross patients because BC made them mad about something. Also - I don't often get to see Dr. Merritt - I usually see her PA - Wendy McGinty - who is wonderful. BUT - if you can get past their insurance issues - they are great doctors.

I also love my dentist: Dr. Matt Horne: www.theaustindentist.com, (512) 329-5250. I have a paralyzing dentist phobia, but he's great with chickens!!
