I mean, a plane crashes in Buffalo NY and instantly people are on site to do recovery/investigating, but a meteor or unexplained object falls to the earth and no one is out recovering/investigating it? C'mon people! Anything that falls from the sky should have a sense of urgency. Am I right or wrong?

I guess the fact that people were killed in Buffalo might have something to do with it.

My wife told her boss that she saw the object falling. He's ex-military and he told her one of his duties at one point in his career was to come up with a sensible answer for what unidentified objects or events were and inform public agencies of the military's official answer...not necessarily an alien aircraft but also stuff they had no idea what it was. He did say that when he was assigned to that position he was told joking to never, ever say an object was a weather balloon!

Lots of stuff seems to be falling out of the sky lately. Like this:

Search called off after plane crash deemed false - CNN.com

If it wasn't a C-17, then what did those people see? Maybe it's more of that satellite debris; I think it may be a bigger deal than people want to let on. The space shuttle is dodging debris, the space station just had a close call, things falling out of the sky everywhere...

You guys! It was a meteor! It was in the papers, in fact, just a few days ago the Statesman had a story about a rock hunter who purchased a large meteor from this event for $10,000! The debris landed in a field outside of West, Texas.

Meteorite from Aquilla area sells for $10,000 (http://www.statesman.com/search/content/news/stories/local/03/21/0321meteorite.html - broken link)
