So you guys rock. I have never seen a community of people so involved about their city and I think that is awesome. I suppose that is why I am even posting this thread. My name is Track and I am moving to Austin at the beginning of March. I have never actually been there, but have an inner calling to live there and have for some time now. I have never met a single person that has been to Austin and not ABSOLUTELY loved it. I just turned 29 and just retired from the adult entertainment industry, something I said I would do prior to turning 30. (I only tell you this so no one says, "Hey, his name is Ethan, not Track." I tend to air my own dirty laundry because I am brutally honest, especially with myself). Anyway, in the last year I started a non-profit organization that offers crisis management services to at risk youth, specifically those in the adult entertainment industry. We help troubled individuals get out of bad situations, realize how they got there, and align them with various agencies that will assist with the core of their problems. We operate a 24 Hour a day crisis hotline and are in the planning stages of building 2 "brick and mortar" wellness centers in different cities that will provide counseling, medical care, reduced cost prescriptions, STD testing, while being a social establishment where you can always go to feel safe. Anyway, I have clearly gotten off on a tangent, but basically since I know nothing or no one in Austin I would welcome any advise you would like to provide about things like the right neighborhood, places to go, where to avoid, etc, etc. My office is located at 100 Congress, something to keep in mind when giving advise especially since I work all the time....literally. Oh and by the way, If any really nice guys want to throw date offers my way, I wouldn't be opposed to that either. So thanks everybody for whatever wisdom you may have for me about Austin. See you soon.
