I am looking at a house in Dunwoody that has a septic tank. It is in a very developed area, so I was surprised. Is that normal for Dunwoody?

It is not a big deal at all. Up until the 80's, most of the areas in Dunwoody were on septic. I grew up with one there and now, after having moved back, live with one. They are perfectly fine as long as you don't throw stupid stuff down the drain. Realistically, the stuff you shouldn't flush/rinse down the drain is stuff you shouldn't even with a sewer. The only exception really being the disposal, but I think they make some specifically for septic tank houses now. We have had no problems. I would just make the seller pay for an inspection/pumping of the tank just to make sure you start with piece of mind.
