I am looking for commute times from these counties to midtown Atlanta. If you do make this commute, what time of morning do you make the ride? I am trying to estimate the rush hour ride. Also, if you take a bus or Marta, I'd be interested in that commute as well. THANK YOU.

We don't have marta here, but the commute isn't that bad. It really depends on where you live in the area. Its about 35 min from Newnan and Ptree city. 30 min from fayetteville, 25 min from tyrone and palmetto, 45 min from grantville and moreland, and 40 min from senoia

Default That is less than I feared

I have seen some drastically higher estimates floating around the boards. Some speak of 85 being backed up to Newnan. If you are leaving at 7:30 and making it in those times, then 85 must be moving along - vs. my fear of a dead stop. Thanks.

I have drive up 85 to downtown many mornings, and I never see too much traffic until I get to the connector

Default I 75 or I 85

My commute will be from somewhere between GA 85 and GA 92. I could take either 75 or 85 northbound. End destination is Midtown. Which Interstate is better with traffic patterns? Any recommendations on routes to get to the interstate from that area - there seem to be many options. Also, once I get on the interstate, how do I get off to get to Midtown Marta area on 10th St NE with all of the construction / bridge work? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The problem with this is that it's getting worse and is going to continue to get worse. I had friends who were early pioneers in the Newnan-to-downton commute and property prices/commute times were excellent. (You could get a three-story historic Greek revival house on an acre+ of land for $250,000!) But as more people do it, the road gets more crowded and property values have definitely skyrocketed. Market forces will even it out.

If gas keeps going up, the commute will be fairly easy (given the sheer distance) but the expense will increase and it will hurt property values.
