Hi, I am looking to attend school at GSU and I was wondering about the commute from the smyrna/vinings to GSU, specifically the business school. is the commute horrible? I will most likely take the train to there. Or will I possibly have to move to a closer area? My job is located in the Kennesaw area. I know the distance is outrageous, but is it doable?

Train? MARTA doesn't go to Vinings. You would have to take a bus down to MARTA. Or drive over to Lindbergh and take the train down.

Where would you commute to then? A MARTA train station?

Shoot, I would skip the train and just take the bus straight down from Cumberland Mall.

If you're taking evening classes (since you mentioned that you have a job so MBA?) which would mean I-75 S is mostly clear in the afternoons. Your best shot is to just drive it and hope for the best rather than try to depend on MARTA or CCT. If you have any classes in Alpharetta, then you're in for a treat but I don't know how they schedule things now...I just remember my brother had to go out there sometimes when he was at GSU MBA.

If you're trying to make it in the mornings...I have no idea if its a reasonable drive in.

I-75 between 285 and the connector is fairly clear, even during rush hour surprisingly. Connector, though, can back on on a moment's notice anytime during the day (although, it isn't that much of a drive to GSU once you're on the connector).

I know people who work in kennesaw and live in midtown. Choose a nice area to live. There are few of them, granted, but most of Atlanta metro is best seen while in a fast moving car. Your best bet is to stay in-town.

...and right after I said this and got in my car, I got stuck on 75 N. Not slowly moving, stopped. Ay ay ay, the irony. Plus, it was raining.

It's close enough. I commute downtown every day, and on some days of the week go to GA State to take a business course before work.

If you want a reliable drive, take Atlanta Rd to Marietta Blvd to Marietta Steet
