Hi Everyone!

I hope to call Arizona my home soon. If it was up to me, I'd be moving tomorrow!
However, I want choices. My husband and I are planning a trip to Arizona to scope out some areas to move to.

My Husband and I are looking for cooler summer areas that get little to no snow. From My understanding Prescott, Chino, Dewey-Humbolt are cooler in the summer and get some snow, but nothing compared to what the northern states get.

All of Arizona is Fair game.

Once I have some places in mind and do a bit more digging, I'm sure I will have more questions.
For now. Just looking for cooler summer areas with a small amount of snow in the winter. ( I have a pup that will miss her snow when we move).

Thank you in advance!

Are you retiring, bringing a job with you or looking for a job? Depending on your answer is where people will send you.

Not retiring, and both to looking and bringing a job. However, I wouldn't want that to dictate the places. I would really like just a general list of some of the places that aren't 90 and up for most of the year. For example, It seems Phoenix is usually in the high 90's for 6 + months out of the year.

When it comes to researching further for possible places of employment, schools, activities, Cost of living etc, I can research that like crazy. But finding which states are cooler seem to be a little more challenging as some places I thought where cooler and have been told by other Arizona residents, they aren't.

I have looked over threads of other people moving to AZ and looking for the same, and there's a lot of information, but its different in every post depending on what people are looking for. I have also looked through the City by City as well, though the format kind of flopped after a while (which sucks because it was all good information that was well organized and easy to sift through).

So, really, just looking for a list or places so I can research them over. Trying to make it easy on everyone.

Also bear in mind that 90 degrees in Arizona is nothing like 90 degrees in the midwest. Plus many areas of Arizona may hit 90-100 for maybe an hour or two in the late afternoon and then cool off 30 degrees when the sun goes down. Phoenix will hit 100 by mid-morning and stay there until midnight during the summer. June, July, August & September are the worst months in Phoenix and the rest of the year is great.

I'm a big fan of areas that have 4 seasons with short winters and summers that are not too warm. Have lived in Boise ID & Silver City NM and places like Prescott, Cottonwood in Arizona are on my short list. If you need to find a job, Prescott is the largest of the cities you had mentioned.

Prescott (the whole quad-city area) is on the short list of places we are looking at. Payson is also in the running. Thank you for mentioning Cottonwood, I will look at that one. Any other cities with temps like Prescott?

Gonna have to ask, what sort of job are one of you looking for? That may dictate what city you want to end up in.

"All AZ is fair game."

Well OK then, Yuma is definitely the place for you!

Oh wait, you're looking for cooler summers with no snow, well in that case, Cannon Beach, Oregon is the place you want! Cool summers and no snow. OK, OK I'm joking.

Really we need more info. None of AZ has snow in the summer, and other than Flag which is (or was) among the highest snow in the country is cold in the winter.

Welcome to wherever you end up.

Buy a gun.
