I found this on the field herp forums and figured Id share, since its, ya know, AZ related. There are some stunning photos that this guy took. If you like rattlers, be sure to check out this link. If you dont like snakes, I think it goes w/o saying to NOT VIEW it.

Wow, those photos are awesome. The guy must harass the rattlers while shooting them as they almost all look poised to strike. I'd love to get some shots like that, but I've yet to find a rattler here in Kingman. And that's even hunting for them in a place called Rattlesnake Wash.

They usually coil when you get close enough. If you dont back up they will start to rattle and coil into their strike position, which I think is one of the most awesome displays of nature. Im a sucker for rattlers, theyre amazing beasts.

Figures, a drunk white idiot has that happen. When I used to be an air ambulance pilot in Kingman AZ all the snake bit victims were drunk white guys with tattoos. Strange how that works.

Thanks for the link Steve-o! Excellent photos!!

Stevo, did you see that special on venomous snakes last week on the discovery channel. It was truly an amazing show. I thought of you when it came on.

My kids have a big rattlesnake chart on their bedroom wall that they brought home from school. It's nice that they're educated on snakes in school. The funniest thing was when my 6 y/o comes home and says "if a gila monster bites you, calmly walk home and put your arm with the gila monster on it in a bucket of water. The gila monster will let go and swim away".
