I am considering a move Ann Arbor, MI (for work reasons). AA seems like a great place to raise a family, however, I'm a divorced WM who is 36 yo, no children. I'm just worried if I make the move to AA there won't be many singles.

Anyone know how the singles scene is like in AA? I suppose I could try Detroit too... a bit far though.

Sure, there are singles around Ann Arbor (including me). Just as anywhere, you have to put yourself in situations to meet people. Ann Arbor has a good assortment of clubs and activities that will get you around people. I have friends that get plenty of dates around here through online dating sites (I haven't tried online dating). A segment of the population is transient (students, temporary assignments, etc) so they don't stick around long. Also, consider if your values mesh with the majority population of Ann Arbor. If you like the liberal, organic, tree-hugging, Obama-worshiping crowd, then you'll get along fine. Me, not so much.

Dude, are you really not aware that U of M is in Ann Arbor? They have one of the best medical schools in the world. You might be able to find a girl or two if you look hard enough.

Beware though. It is a super Left Wing town so if those aren't your values you might have issues.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I'm aware that U of M is there. However, I'm 36 and I would prefer a woman who's in the 25-35 age range. 20 yo college girls are hot but a bit young and I'm looking for LTR/marriage, not a party girl. (college is party time for most people)

However, I suppose there are grad students who are a bit older...

And no I'm not liberal, but that doesn't matter much. I have dated liberals before and I'm usually able to convince them that their ideas are nonsense, esp after sleeping with them.

Well, you sound arrogant enough, so I'm sure AA will be a good fit.
Couldn't resist. You'll get what I mean when you move there.

Anyway, I don't think you'll have a hard time finding women in that age range to date. Don't neglect the suburbs, either. (Plymouth, Novi, a few others). DO neglect the hillbilly suburbs though, as everybody has kids there. You'll be able to pick those out pretty quickly.

As far as good young professional single scenes in SE Michigan: I'd say Detroit, Royal Oak and Ferndale would top AA for me. But then again, I don't like AA.

When did AA become the place for arrogant folks?

Age ranges go up if you meet folks from the med, law and graduate programs also.

But in terms of efficiency, go for Eharmony or another site, just saves time and money.

LOL! Is this a serious question?

Actually, it isn't A2 that is arrogant so much as it is U of M. It's a fine line but there is a difference.
