Interesting. I haven't heard of that crash until now. I wonder if there is any way to find out what the crash coordinates are. The link to the NTSB report didn't work for me.

19 miles west of Willow is within snowmobile range if the brush isn't too thick.

Found the NTSB report which has the lat, long of the crash site. Reading the report, it sounds like a lot of the aircraft is still out there despite the fact that it was carrying fuel for a remote mine when it crashed resulting it a large fire. As WRM20 noted, they did not recover and of the wreckage.

Coordinates from one site I found by searching for N27PH crash 61.833611°N, 150.560556°W

NTSB Docket https://data.ntsb.gov/Docket/?NTSBNumber=ANC13FA004 which has a few pictures.

Hmm, I bet me and a few friends could find that crash site after the rivers finish freezing up.

As long as the aircraft is not covered with ice and snow, body panels, fuselage, and other aircraft parts should be at the crash site. Can you get to the crash site during the summer once the snow melts? How about buying a topographical map that shows the area where it crashed, and then coordinate the location. Also, with the coordinates you should be able to view a satellite map of the entire area.

If I well remember, UA and UAF used to sell topographic and other maps. You may be able to use Zoom Earth during a clear day?

Already looked at it on Google Earth. I can see a couple probable ways to get there by snowmachine launching from Deshka Landing. Summer time would require a helicopter.

Looking at the photos, the trees around the crash site are all scorched so that would be the clue that you found it even if all the aircraft parts are covered with snow.

I see... The crash site most be difficult to get to "by foot." Hopefully it won't snow too much in that area. We had lots of snow all around the interior last winter. I had about 4+ feet of snow on my backyard.
