My husband and I have been living in Mobile for about 8 months now. He just matched into the Ortho residency at USA and we are looking for a house.
We have liked the neighborhoods and prices in Tillman's Corner but would really appreciate some local advice.
Our price range is pretty low so most of what we can afford in Cottage Hill North and South is not very desirable.

We will be moving in 5 years so resale is also important to us.

If you have lived in Tillman's Corner, have family or friends there we would love to hear your input!

Thanks!!

I consider Tillman's Corner part of Mobile, but that's just me. A friend of mine lives on Dog River (off of Rangeline Rd) and he loves it, but he's also a boat lover and has his own dock. There are a few sleezy areas just like anywhere else, but they're easily avoided.

I think there are good and bad areas of Tillmans Corner just like everywhere else. Make sure you check with insurance companies if you are buying a house south of Interstate 10. I have many family members in Tillmans Corner and Theodore that are not able to get wind coverage through their insurance companies. They are having to use the Beach Pool which is much more expensive.

50+ years ago I visited Tillman's Corner often. We would visit a store named "Tillman's Drug Store", best ice cream around.
I came by the area a few months ago, and could not find any landmark I remembered.
No one I asked knew anything about a drug store ever being there.
Can someone tell me what is now located on the drug store site?
I may be coming back to the area in a few weeks and would like spend some time looking around. Knowing where the drug store was located, I may be able to find memories.
