Leaving DFW

Posted 05-24-2020 at 03:27 PM by Aeliza

It can be unfortunate when things do not work out in a city, but at least you made the determination in a short period of time. Did you return to a city where you lived prior to Dallas or a brand new city?

Agreed. I ended up taking a job in Portland, OR. I’m originally from Seattle; was looking for opportunities solely in the NW. I knew about six months in that DFW wasn’t for me. I’m grateful I was able to leave before the two-year mark.

I would say DMV region “offers” great job opportunities especially with the federal government being here and all the residual jobs that comes with. I’ve definitely met people who would love to leave the region but can’t get a job in their niche field in places like Harrisburg, PA or even Denver, New Orleans, etc.

Let's All Remember Our Troops On This Memorial Day Weekend

Posted 05-22-2020 at 07:42 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

They've served.

They've fought.

They've protected.

They've sacrificed.

Some have even died.

This coming Monday (and even before then, really), we all need to pause, reflect, and remember those who served all of us. Many thanks to the men and women of our U.S. Armed Forces for proudly wearing that uniform so that all of us can remain free.

Let's remember them.

Before stopping in at Molly's Catfish Corner in Seven Points, Texas, for their big specialty, your writer decided to stop in a nearby Brookshire's grocery store. And before I stopped at a machine to get a couple of lottery tickets, I trudged into the restroom to wash my hands. Lo, and behold, ...
