My 14 year old cat had 8 teeth extractions 5 weeks ago. He has since developed cat flu or a uri plus a condition known as FOPS...Feline orofacial pain syndrome....he paws at his mouth because he has nerve pain...we have him on gabapentin and we are now trying a viral medication called Famciclovir...he hypersneezes and has clear nose discharge.... his left eye had an ulcer where he scratched himself.... that has cleared up but he is still favoring it which the vet attributes to the uri..... its heartbreaking...
