Something was a common sight in Lubbock, America, as I looked around the place like a good Texas traveler should. Dirt is turning in many places in the Hub City. Houses are going in at a record pace for that area. Construction continues for many businesses getting started in many locations.

But amongst all the hubbub in the Hub , there was a frequent commonality. The signs in about six places proved it.

My wife and I just recently moved across country and sold our house in washington state. The only one who really hated the decision was her mother who told us we were making a huge mistake. Years ago when I was a kid, we were all sitting at the table eating watermelon. I noticed all the watermelon seeds in the ash tray and since I love watermelon I decided to grow my own.
I grabbed a few seeds and planted them in the backyard next to the porch. I watered that area every day and was surprised a few weeks later to actually see a sprout coming up from the dirt.
It got to be about 5 inches tall before a rabbit or some other critter chomped it in half. I quickly lost interest...
