Recent Trip Went Well, But Not Without A Little Adventure

Posted 02-28-2022 at 06:36 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

Not long ago, I touched on the fact that I had a little road trip taken last week. I've gone over some of the details (of the weather variety) in a previous post, so I'll get down to the other things.

I left Dallas (which looked like Scotland Yard with all that fog) Monday to head for Texarkana. Yep, the place on the state line. My hotel was on the Arkansas side, but then, Interstate 30 is loaded up with hotels. Nearly all of Texarkana's hotels happen to be located...

Scripture Of The Day - February 28, 2022

Posted 02-28-2022 at 10:52 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

"I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire." (Matthew 3:11)

Baptism with the Holy Spirit produces the power of God and manifests His gifts and fruit in us. The things of the flesh and world are consumed by the fire, but the things of God are refined and purified.

"[E]ach one's work will become clear; for the...

Sorrow Not!

Posted 02-27-2022 at 10:30 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Isaiah 51:11 - "And the redeemed of the LORD will return and come to Zion with singing, crowned with unending joy. Joy and gladness will overtake them, forever free from sorrow and grief."

Isaiah 53:4 - "Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteeme
d him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted."

Isaiah 53 says Jesus bore our griefs and carried our sorrows. If Jesus was required to bear sorrow and defeat it on the cross...

Posted 02-26-2022 at 10:09 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

2 Corinthians 4:4 - "Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God." NLT

If you have been interceding for your brother there is nothing wrong with him except the devil! No human being who truly understood the salvation Jesus offers would reject it of his own free will. Why then...

Scripture Of The Day – February 26, 2021

Posted 02-26-2022 at 07:49 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

"Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." - Isaiah 43:18-19 (NKJV)

When you go through transition, as Jesus did when going from the Jordan (baptism) to being drawn into the wilderness by the Spirit, it is a very vulnerable time and it is the time to fast and pray and build yourself up in the Word,...
