Following the 2000 U.S. Census, the data showed Santa Clarita having a population of 151,187 with 30,846 residents identifying as Latino or Hispanic, or 20.4%. The 2010 Census showed an increase of Latino or Hispanic residents to 51,941 out of 176,320 total residents, or 29.4% of the population.

How loud are swim/tennis clubs like North Hills Club, Quail Hollow Club, Carolina Country Club, etc.?

Posted 03-29-2022 at 01:45 PM by Faith in Action
Anybody live near one of these sorts of swim/tennis clubs like Quail Hollow Swim Club, North Hills Club, Carolina Country Club, etc.? Just curious how loud they are. Are they playing music for 12 hours per day at the pool, all summer long, that is audible at nearby houses? Are they regularly having events (swim meets, tennis tournaments, parties) with loud music late into the night?

Would value any feedback from anybody who lives near one or regularly attends...

I am confused. I am pretty sure I've read many statements on C-D from our liberal friends about how this is not happening. What gives?
Why do Scandinavian people look so different than Germans?

Posted 03-29-2022 at 01:42 PM by Faith in Action
In Scandinavia most people have oval faces while in Germany their faces tend to be wider - either round or squarish. Germans also have longer and taller noses than Scandinavians. That's especially visible in women - Scandic women have button-noses while many German ones have noses like Nena or Penny McLean the singers. Is it that Germans have more Slavic (Sorbian, Czech) admixture? I find German looks more varied, but on average Scandinavians look more traditionally attractive....

Move To Carson City?

Teacher Terry, I like small town living when it is close to a bigger city and that's exactly what Carson City is. Also Carson City is less expensive (esp. housing) than Reno. My adult kids want to work and live in Reno and my youngest would be attending UNR. So we would all start out living in Carson City but the adult kids would eventually move to Reno.
