I found this on keely.net quite a while ago and as far as I can see, it no longer exists on there. I thought it was quite interesting and backs up what others have said about plants having a certain level of consciousness.

Before you actually come to recognize your authority in Christ, there may be resistance to the new work of the Spirit in you. This resistance can be internal or external, and sometimes it can come from those around you.
