My City Data Addiction

This is my first blog entry on this forum, but I'm not new to blogs. I started one in a hobby forum, but because I slowly drifted into a slacker status with my projects, I had no new one to post and keep up with the rest. Man, they must quilt 24/7 over there.

I contemplated on a theme for my blog so that I would be motivated to keep posting on a regular basis, so for an opening, I think I would discuss my CD addiction.

I've heard many people here in CD admit to this,...

Trying my hand at this

Posted 06-24-2008 at 10:36 AM by JoAnn5

I feel quite adventuresome, trying my hand at all this new stuff! Hope i don't mess up badly.
It's nice to have a place to write like this, isn't it? I must say that i LOVE the TN C-D forum... read it several times a day. Now that i'm officially retired i'll probably be making a real nuisance of myself by posting so much. Anyway... thank you for reading this, hope some of you can respond so i'll know if i'm just talking to the clouds or not...lol. And thanks for befriending me......

Can I Whine a Little?

I don't know about this blogging stuff. I've never "blogged" before but I am in the mood for a rant/vent today. So I guess this is as good of place as any. So forewarned...

Here goes...many of you who know me on this forum are well aware that my much beloved only child died seven years ago next month at the age of 16. Most of my grief centered obviously around losing him and him alone. But I also grieve for the life we will never have now....primarily grandchildren....

A random thought, and a second....

Enter rant....

If "being green" (aka: energy efficient) is said to save us money, why aren't we saving any money?

Last year we had a new furnace installed, complete with the "energy star" logo and our fuel bills have doubled. They expect us to use less..... yet the sky's the limit when it comes to excessive taxes & fees. (I'm a NY'er..... "excessives taxes" is our middle name )

That being said, Why should we be "green"...
