MY RANT: Don't read if you're easily offended / upset

Posted 07-16-2008 at 01:32 PM by mams1559

Lately I haven't had time to participate in my favorite forums (R&P, Christianity), as RL has taken over and I've been busy. I do try to pop in every now and then to update some folks and peruse a few threads. All I can do is shake my head. It's very disheartening to read what I've read.

More and more it seems that people don't want to be bothered with the truth. They say truth is not absolute. They say many people have the "truth" and it's different from what I know...

The Internet is King.....No Question, No Debate

Posted 07-16-2008 at 10:00 AM by Stu Barnes (The Listing Agent And The Football Coach)

The big question ALL sellers want to know when interviewing an agent to list their home is "what are they going to do to sell it?" No matter what response you get, the one you must tell yourself you MUST hear is EXPOSURE. How do you get that?

There is...

Yes.

That is the short answer, but with the media covering the Real Estate Market across the country and leaving scattered information as a blanket summation I have to clarify. In general as everyone knows the market is down, even locally. This has to do with a number of things, but the issues holding up our Raleigh/Durham Market are different than things holding up say the California Market or Florida Market.

Basically, speculation on rates and what's happening with...

A Stress Free Weekend

Posted 07-16-2008 at 07:19 AM by arguy1973

I remember the long days of summer from when I was a kid, those three months give or take a week being out of school seem to last forever. Now its like I blink twice and summer is almost over. I used to divide summer into halves. Memorial day was the start, and the 4th of July meant it was half over. Usually it meant that baseball for me would be over too.
Saturday I had one of those "Summer days." I took my BIL's jeep home Saturday after work. Its the kind where you need a step...

Schools in the Asheville Area

I spend most of my time at City-Data in the Western North Carolina forum, where a common question is "What are the schools like?"

We realtors are encouraged not to characterize school quality, as that has been used in the past as a means of "redlining" or steering clients to or away from certain neighborhoods for socioeconomic or racial reasons. Plus, how to define a "good" school varies from person to person. What's good for my family might not be for...
