Night---Friend or Foe???

I've been a "night" person most of my life and enjoy taking walks at all hours. Tonight I went for a walk in my new neighborhood which is not well lit and couldn't help but think that sometimes the night is NOT my friend, but my enemy!!!!

I walked for a total of 7 blocks, safely, but kept looking over my shoulder. A motorcycle and a car drove by and I stepped into the shadows until both had passed a good distance. Two teenagers went by on their bicycles and, again, I...
Can't wait to get on the road again.

1 day left for anxiety to build

Posted 07-31-2008 at 07:41 PM by Katzztar

Well this is it. Tonight is m last night here in Texas. Tomorrow at 1pm central I'll be leaving to travel to Madison. I won't lie and say I'm not worried.

I keep looking at what I'm leaving behind. And two things come to mind: I wish I can take more and where the hell did all this come from!

I'm not sure how soon I can get internet service once I arrive. So after tomorrow, I'll have to wait to post until I find a hotspot.

Being Unemployed, Week 1

Posted 07-31-2008 at 12:45 PM by MaryS80

So I lost my job a week ago, during what is easily the worst economy of my lifetime. There was a report on the news today that unemployment is at an all time high. That means more competition for jobs. Just a few days ago a large company shut down all their restaurants without notice. I'm not in that field, but again more competition for jobs.

Maybe I am too optimistic, but I expected to have a job by now. I hit the ground running and put in applications and submitted my resume...

Previously..... I am glad to be leaving this big, dirty town, yet I am embarrassed to be going back home. Home? We have no home. Where will we stay? I vow that I will return home just long enough to put the next step of my plan to work, and I feel lighter and ask Dad what time we leave......

We arrive back "home" at dusk and we collect our suitcases once again from the back of the bus..This time no one is waiting to take us somewhere to spend the night..We are just a block...

"Issues" in Wake County and Johnston County

Posted 07-31-2008 at 11:13 AM by VickiR

When working with relocating familes, I like to educate them to the "issues" within our area because sometimes they don't even know the questions they should be asking!

Some of the issues that I address are:

Stucco
Radon
Lead Paint
Asbestos
Underground Fuel Storage Tanks
Polybutelyne Piping
Siding, as in Masonite
Private Roads
WAKE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL assignments
Termites
Restrictive Covenants...
