True Waterproofing???

Posted 08-09-2008 at 08:06 PM by NoVaWaterproofer

According to dictionary.com, to waterproof is to render impervious to water by some special process, as coating or treating with rubber.
Impervious means not permitting penetration or passage; impenetrable.
So let me ask you this. Is cutting a trench around the inside of the room and pumping water back outside true waterproofing? Is installing a hollow baseboard with tubes drilled into the block for the purpose of draining water out of the blocks and pumping it away considered true waterproofing?...

1. keep an eye on it until your husband comes home (works best if he comes home within the next 15 minutes or so)

2. throw a shoe at it (least effective)

3. muster up the courage to get close enough to it with the shoe, and then muster up even more courage to smash it real good with the shoe, then leave the shoe over the spider till husband gets home

4. the vacuum works great if it’s a fast runner and on the carpet

5. call husband at work...

didn't wait for any introductions..He reached out and encircled me in his arms and delivered the biggest bear hug I could imagine..Meanwhile, halfway between the car and the steps leading to the front porch, my h had gramma in a bearhug to match grampa's..We were about to switch huggers..I braced myself for another "breath taker" from...

Opening Ceremonies

Posted 08-08-2008 at 10:33 PM by aiangel_writer

I can't help it, I love the Olympics. And I count the Opening Ceremonies as part of the sport as well.

To see how each country puts together a spectacular show blows my mind. This thing is huge, and always there seems to be the chore of topping the last one.

Tonight's opening in China was truly a gem to watch. How can they choregraph all that and nothing go wrong?

I can just imagine the pressure that is put on the team that tackles this job.

Well, I'm into the next chapter of my life...

Posted 08-08-2008 at 08:56 PM by mrjason

I have successfully relocated to Elko County, Nevada. I completed my third day of new-teacher training at the district office today, and I think I have found a truly wonderful part of the world to call home. There is just no comparison between southern California and northeastern Nevada--I really like it up here! Sure, the closest Costco is about 100 miles away, but I purchased a big cooler to throw things on ice for the return trip.

I honestly didn't know that there were such...
