Today

Posted 09-06-2008 at 07:50 AM by arguy1973

Today is gonna be like taking a jump back in time. My daughter is going to play in the old gym at my old high school, one which I havent been back into since i graduated almost 20 years ago. I thought they had torn down the old gym when they built the new one, but apparently not, only thing i can think of is wow this will bring back some memories. From the 4th grade thru 12th i played in the gym, made new friends, lost some friends, got in fights, broke up with gfs. i guess im a hopeless romantic...

The Little Cafe

Posted 09-05-2008 at 11:26 AM by loulamb (Lou's Rock Hill area bar and restaurant blog)

The Little Cafe on Mt. Gallant Rd in Rock Hill has turned into a favorite place for Saturday breakfast with friends. Service is friendly and attentive, food is good, only drawback being the size of the place...it's a Little Cafe after all! Seriously, the most that can share one table is 5, due to the setup.

Memories

Posted 09-05-2008 at 09:52 AM by East Coast Wanderer

I was listining to a CD with DooWop, music I've always enjoyed. After a song and a half I turned the CD player off. It brought back too many memories of a simpler life and made me feel somewhat on the down side. This will pass as have other unpleasent thoughts and feelings. Sometimes I wish for the simpler life but that would be boring constantly.
Can't wait to get on the road again.

Smiling Hills Farm

Simple Pleasures:

There is a dairy farm in the town to which we moved. "Smiling Hills Farm". It is located on a country road, from which you can see the pastures and the Holstein cows grazing, or depending on the time of day, lying in the shade of a woodlot up the hill above the road. Its sign board shows a happy smiling cow!

This time of year you are also pretty reliably going to see wild turkeys and their young ones taking possession of a portion of the field,...
