Current Real Estate of Affairs in the Triangle!

Posted 10-23-2008 at 10:11 PM by mjdelacruz

Hello everyone! This site oozes with energy and I would love to be a part of it!

I just came out of a seminar that is given once a year by the Raleigh Board of Realtors(RRAR), called Real Estate Trends. We had 3 speakers, Stacey Anfindsen, Ted Abernathy and John Ansbach. We got a lot of interesting information. Our current supply of home inventory is now 8 months compared to 4 months in 05 & 06 but still better than the natl average which is 11. We are still better than Chicago...

Enjoying the quiet season

Posted 10-23-2008 at 12:50 PM by dsobotta

The weather is absolutely stunning along the Southern Outer Banks right now. It has cooled off this week, but the ex-Canadian in me would have a hard time complaining about temperatures in the sixties in late October.

Last week we were in shorts. Yesterday when we went fishing, a stiff breeze from the north made our hooded sweat shirts feel pretty good.

Still this is a great time of year for fishing and enjoying the water. The best of the fishing still is to come...

Raise Sale Tax and Lower Property Tax

Posted 10-23-2008 at 11:57 AM by Speaker

Consumption taxes are progressive and will generate significant revenue replacing lost revenue from lowering property taxes.

Lee County Should raise the sales tax 4% to bring in additional revenue. Tax consumers and it will add a multiple of revenue that will help reduce the burden on property owners being choked by the increased living cost.

WV-Charleston or Beckley VA

Posted 10-23-2008 at 06:12 AM by drsnjkb

Does anyone KNOW anyone that works at the VA in Charleston or Beckley WV? I'm trying to move from Arkansas & currently work in the federal government so I'm trying to get on at one of these VA's. Any help would be most appreciated!!!

I would also consider other VAs in the WV area...

Thanks for all responses! Jme
